Farmer protesting the WTO could reach to the compund of WTO meeting in Hong Kong. But the police are using tear gas to disrupt the farmer which want to stay the night close the WTO compound. |

2005.12.16 Small Farmers Struggling for Their Last Stance; Hong Kong People Standing Together in Hunger Strike Over the last few days, we, a group of Hong Kong people, believe that many locals have been inspired and touched by people coming here from around the world to challenge the WTO. We have been deeply moved bythem, too. Traveling from afar, friends from Korea have brought us beautiful rhythms, songs, and stories of their struggle and suffering. The Korean farmers and workers have expressed great kindness in the face of their demonization by the media and government. |
